‘Komur’ attending Bengaluru filmfest

Iranian-French ‘Komur’ (The Charcoal) has been attending the 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival in India.

‘Komur’ was selected to participate at the festival’s Contemporary World Cinema.

“Revenge is the product of humiliation…,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Directed by Esmaeel Monsef, the flick narrates the story of Gheirat, a modest charcoal producer, who has been pushed into a tragic spiral after his son received a jail sentence.

‘Komur’ is starring Hadi Eftekharzadeh, Zhila Shahi, Yousef Yazdani, and Farid Adhami, among others.

Earlier reports said Saeed Roustaee’s ‘Just 6.5’ (6.5 per Meter) would also take part at the Contemporary World Cinema.

Meanwhile, Iranian feature films ‘Cinema Donkey’ and ‘Diapason’ are also vying at the Indian festival’s Asian Cinema section.

The 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival kicked off on February 26 and is set to run until March 4, 2020.
