France to host Iran’s ‘Double’

Iranian short film ‘Double’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 15th edition of the Panorama of Maghreb and Middle Eastern Cinemas in France.

Directed by Ronak Jafari, the 26-minute film revolves around two women trekking a long road to a village.

Trying to find her way to a film set, a young actress gets derailed into a journey as bizarre as the film she is about to act in.

Sahra Asadollahi, Banafsheh Araabi, Houman Rahnamoun, Toufan Mehrdadian, Alireza Pourhashem, Behnam Momeni, Shima Khazaei, Dorsa Abolfazli, and Amir Shahverdi are among the cast.

‘Double’ has gone on screen at a number of global film events, including the 2019 CoSM Women’s Visionary Film Symposium in the US, the 17th ONE SHOT Film Festival in Armenia, and the 40th Moscow International Film Festival in Russia.

The Panorama of Maghreb and Middle Eastern Cinemas, held in Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis will allow spectators to discover movies from Iran, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania, Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon.

The event includes screenings, meetings with directors and professionals, round tables, concerts and many other festive proposals.

The 15th edition of the event is slated for March 3-21, 2020.
