'ifilm holds good viewership in Algeria'

ifilm has become popular among Algeria households for family movies and series aired by the channel, Iran cultural attaché says.

In a media report quoting the Iranian cultural attached to Algeria in a meeting with a group of Algerian elite as saying that ifilm holds a good standing among religious Algerian families for showing family productions from Iran that adhere to Sharia laws.

The report also said due to recent popularity of cable networks in Algeria with a downturn in cinema industry and viewership decline of local televisions in the country, many of Algeria's cinemas are closed down in the capital and provinces. They are replaced by foreign TV satellites.

Considering the present situation in the country, ifilm TV can play an important role in entertaining Algerian viewers.
