Iran’s ‘Exam’ to vie in US

Award-winning short film ‘Exam’ has been selected to compete at the 2020 Annapolis Film Festival (AFF) in the US.

Directed by Sonia Haddad, the short flick narrates the story of a girl named Sadaf who has forebodings for the exam she is going to take.

But today, instead of going to school she must deliver a package of illegal drugs to a client and gets caught in a weird cycle of events.

‘Exam’ has participated at several international festivals and grabbed some awards, including the AFI fest award which made the title qualified for the short film category of the Oscars 2021 and the 35th Sundance Film Festival in the US has honored the flick’s star Sadaf Asgari with the Special Jury Award for Best Actor.

The Annapolis fest, starting in 2013, is a place for filmmakers to showcase their works. The fest hosts more than 70 films.

The AFF aims to encourage the development of all aspects of creative arts.

This edition of the event is slated for March 26-29, 2020.
