Iran short wins big in US

Iranian acclaimed short film ‘Driving Lessons’ has won an award at the Annual Big Muddy Film Festival in the US.

The 42nd edition of the American film event has given its Best Long Narrative award to Marzieh Riahi’s multiple award-winning flick.

The 13-minute short is about a young woman named Bahareh who must have her traditional controlling husband accompany her on driving lessons so she and her male instructor would not be alone. Things might not be good on that lesson when the husband and the instructor do not get along well.

Linda Kiani, star in ifilm series ‘Warm Breath’ and ‘Until Being with Sorayya’, portrays the lead character of the flick.

The film has already attended global festivals and won awards at various international events including, the jury’s special award at the Film Festival for Women’s Rights in South Korea, the best short drama award at the “I Will Tell” international film festival in the UK and the best film award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

The Big Muddy Film Festival takes place in celebration of innovative works of new and established artists.

The latest edition of the event was held on February 24- March 01, 2020.
