Canada to showcase Iran short

Iranian short ‘Sink’ has been set to attend the Montreal International Festival of Films on Art in Canada.

Directed by Mahboubeh Kalaee, the short animation will be screening at the Kaleidoscope section of the 38th edition of the Canadian event.

The Kaleidoscope section is part of a bigger category at this year's edition of the event titled Spotlight on Iranian Art Films.

Besides ‘Sink’, some 20 other Iranian films will go on screen at this category of the event.

The short title is an experimental work that mixed amalgamation of live-action and animation.

Its story revolves around the man and woman who come out of the coffee dregs in two cups which are left in a kitchen sink.

‘Sink’ has already attended a number of international film events, including the Imaginaria Film Festival in Italy and the International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival in Croatia.

The Montreal International Festival of Films on Art showcases and promotes films and works on art and media arts. The event aims to enhance public’s understanding of art.

This edition of the festival is slated for March 17-29, 2020.
