Directed by Sonia Haddad, the award-winning short will be in competition for the Best Short film title of the 11th edition of the Italian film event.
‘Exam’ narrates the story of a girl named Sadaf who has forebodings for the exam she is going to take. But today, instead of going to school she must deliver a package of illegal drugs to a client and gets caught in a weird cycle of events.
The 15-minute short has so far attended a number of international film events and has succeeded to win awards, including the Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival in the US and the Grand Jury Prize at the AFI Fest in the US.
While Sadaf Asgari, Masih Kazemi, Elaheh Afshari are some the cast members, ifilm star of ‘Zaferani’ series Hadis Miramini also plays a part in the flick.
The Skepto festival focuses on short films and has a competitive nature. The fest aims to provide independent filmmakers with an opportunity to showcase their films. It also creates a space for the attendees to dialogue and intercultural exchange.
The latest edition of the Italian festival was slated for April 1-4, 2020 but due to the outbreak of COVID-19 virus, it has been postponed for October.
