Iranian ‘Akam’ to vie in London

Directed by Hossein Mirza-Mohammadi, Iranian short title ‘Akam’ has been selected to vie at the 11th edition of the London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) in the UK.

The short title narrates the story of a young boy who lives in a border village in Iran’s Kordestan Province.

The boy whose name is Akam is assisting his father to hold a wedding ceremony of his sister.

The father sends Akam out of the village to do something, but when he comes back he finds all people dead except one.

Some of the cast members are Mahan Babaee, Raman Amani, Ayda Mahmoudian and Mansour Naderi.

The short title is produced by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society and Navid Mikhak.

Launched in 2001, the LKFF brings together films from four parts of Kurdistan and other parts of the world.

The fest is a chance to showcase films of any style, topic and genre and to bring the audience from around the world together.

The 11th edition of the event is slated for April 24-May 3, 2020.
