Iran, Oman to boost cultural relations

Senior Iranian and Omani officials meet in Muscat on boosting bilateral ties, especially in cultural fields.

Deputy Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Bahman Namvar-Motlaq met Head of Oman's Handicrafts Organization Aysheh Siyabieh on Friday in Muscat, Oman.

The officials explored ways to strengthen and give a boost to mutual cooperation during the meeting in the Omani capital.

Discussing cooperation agreements in the domain of handicrafts, the two sides underlined the need for making joint documentaries on the two countries’ handicrafts and increasing mutual relations.

Siyabieh said that Oman is ready for to further expand relations with Iran.

Namvar-Motlaq travelled to Oman for attending Investment in Culture Conference and inaugurating Exhibition of Iranian Handicrafts and Precious Rings.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi announced earlier in March that Iran is sincerely pursuing reinvigoration of mutual relations with Oman.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about establishing stronger ties with Oman and the essential political will is there to further develop and extend mutual relations with Oman," he said during a meeting with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman Badr bin-Hamad bin-Hamood Albusaidi in Tehran.

Albusaidi also highlighted the very good relations between the two countries, and said, “Iran-Oman ties are a role model in the region and Oman is sincerely willing and trying to expand and extend mutual ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
