‘Once a Woman’ to screen at Amman Film Festival

Iranian feature title ‘Once a Woman’ has made way into the official selection of the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) in Jordan.

Directed by Jalil Akbari-Sehhat, the movie will be screened at the “Non-Arab Debut Film” section of the Jordanian event. Submitted films in this International Non-Arab section will be eligible for the Audience Award.

Written by Mohammad Rahmanian and produced by Azita Mougouee, ‘Once a Woman’ is a co-production of Iran, Canada and Kenya.

It narrates the story of several individuals who are exploring life to get to know more about themselves, others and the world.

‘Once a Woman’, which was previously screened at the 2019 edition of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) in Tunisia, stars Ghazal Shakeri, Pejman Hadavi, and a number of foreign actors.

The Amman International Film Festival showcases Arab and international movies with the aim to “develop and promote an Arab cinema that reflects the creativity of the region and tackles the issues that are prevalent today”.

AIFF will be held in Amman, the capital and largest city of Jordan on April 13–18, 2020.
