Iran doc to vie in Germany

Iranian documentary feature ‘Copper Notes of a Dream’ has been slated to attend the Munich International Documentary Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Reza Farahmand and produced by Morteza Shabani, ‘Copper Notes of a Dream’ will be in competition at the 35th edition of the German fest.

The doc tells the story of Mallouk, a ten year old boy who collects the copper wire along with his friends. They pick them up from the houses that have been demolished during the war. They sell what they collect in order to make a living.

Their passion for the pursuit of a childhood dream which is to give a concert someday, however, gives them the hope to even find happiness among the ruins.

‘Copper Notes of a Dream’ has already attended a number of international film events, including the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia and the Olympia Int’l Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece.

According to the official website of the event, the Munich International Documentary Film Festival holds yearly and accepts and screens over 150 works. The selected pieces show people from different walks of life.  

Due to the Coronavirus, crisis this year edition of the festival will hold online on May 06-24, 2020.
