ifilm TV to air comedy-drama ‘Spare’

ifilm’s feature film ‘Spare’ has been scheduled to go on air on April 11, 2020.

The movie, produced by Seyyed-Amir Parvin-Hosseini and directed by Borzou Niknejad, revolves around a soccer coach.

‘Spare’ tells the hilarious story of a small-time football team which has just lost its star player, Saeed.

The team coach, who happens to be Saeed’s future father-in-law, suddenly has a change of heart when he realizes the boy can no longer pursue a career as a professional football player.

As he creates obstacles for Saeed’s marriage with his daughter, he starts to face huge challenges of his own.

The movie’s key cast includes Mohammad-Javad Ezzati, Amir Jafari, Elnaz Habibi, Rima Raminfar, Ahmad Mehranfar, Shabnam Moqaddami, Mahan Nasiri, and Safar Rouhi.

Niknejad’s comedy went on screen at Iranian Club Dubai in the United Arab Emirates as well as some Canadian cities in 2017.

The flick gained Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival in 2016. Moqaddami shared the award with an actress of Iran Oscar 2018 submission ‘Breath’.

‘Spare’, made in 2015, is scheduled to go on air at 22:00 GMT.

ifilm English will also repeat the movie the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 (all GMT times).
