Iran’s ‘The Hands’ awarded in US

Iranian short title ‘The Hands’ by Parviz Rajaee has grabbed an award at the World Premiere Film Awards (WPFA) in the US.

According to the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘The Hands’ won the best short film award at the festival’s winter season (January-March).

‘The Hands’ is about determinism and free will.

“Some are in stillness to be formed by a hand, and others try to form,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The World Premiere Film Awards aims to “showcase and provide exposure for the very best in film making at all levels”, the festival’s website reads.

The WPFA is “a quarterly festival that finishes the year with a gala theatrical event where a best in show winner will be determined” and awarded, the website adds.
