‘Greyish’ to compete at Maryland Film Festival

Iranian short animation ‘Greyish’ has found place at the 22nd annual Maryland Film Festival (MDFF) in the US.

Written and directed by Eqbal Shirzaee-Sani, the animation depicts the various stages in the life of an old man as a metaphor for other’s lives.

‘Greyish’ has taken part at several global events, including Italy’s Cartoon Club International Festival of Animation Cinema, Comics and Games, Canada’s Edmonton International Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival in the US and the 15th European Independent Film Festival in France.

The list goes on with the 2020 Crystal Palace International Film Festival in the UK, the ANIMAYO GRAN CANARIA 2020 in Spain and the 12th Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival in Uruguay where it was nominated for Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film.

The Maryland Film Festival is an annual five-day event that presents film and video work from all over the world. Each year the festival screens approximately 50 feature films and 80 short films of all varieties.

“MdFF works to foster the exchange of ideas between artists and audience while providing a voice to visionary and truly independent filmmakers and a launch pad for their films,” said at the event’s official website.

The festival will take place in mid June 2020 in Maryland, USA.
