On Wednesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel outlined plans for easing of restrictions caused by coronavirus outbreaks.
After the announcement, the country’s most populous state North Rhine-Westphalia said cinemas will be open from May 30.
North Rhine-Westphalia that is home to nearly 18 million people will open cinemas, but all the decisions depend on the infection process.
Safety measures that are to be observed in the opening halls include using masks, a minimum distance of 1.5 meters, and carefully planned entries and exits.
Other German states are expected to announce the opening date of cinemas soon.
