Serbia to listen to Persian ‘Echo’

Barzan Rostami’s ‘Echo’ is scheduled to go on screen at the International festival of animated film "Constantine's gold Coin" in Serbia.

The selection committee of the 8th edition of the Serbian film event has selected 164 films for screening at the 2020 festival, and the 7-minute Iranian animation makes one of the shorts in competition at the STUDENT category.

Also written and produced by Rostami, the story of ‘Echo’ is about understanding and perception of wildlife and environmental abuse and its consequences on human race.

On his motives to make ‘Echo’, Rostami says, “I always ask myself would humans still hurt animals and cause damage to the environment if they were treated in the same way? I empathize with environment because I think all the living creatures have feelings like we have. They can feel happiness, sadness, anger, and other feelings that they might share with us. That's why I wanted to make a movie about empathy for the environment”.

Established in 2013, the International Animated Film Festival “Constantine’s gold Coin” is organized to promote cultural creativity of national and foreign authors.

The event is slated for 20-24 July, 2020.
