Iran short to vie at Afghan fest

Internationally recognized Iranian short title ‘Funfair’ has been scheduled to attend the Herat International Women’s Film Festival in Afghanistan.

Kaveh Mazaheri’s 15-minute flick will be in competition at the 6th edition of the Afghan event.

‘Funfair’ narrates the story of a young married couple and their 5-year-old kid.

The three of them are grabbling with financial issues that the father of the family has brought upon them.

“Majid, a financially struggling man, comes up with a ploy in order to better the life of his wife, Sara”, Reads a brief synopsis for the flick.

The special mention at the Winchester Film Festival in the UK, the Best Screenplay Award at the Scene film festival in France and the Best International Short Film at the Foyle Film Festival in the UK are only some of the international honors that ‘Funfair’ has gained so far.

The cast list of the flick includes Sonia Sanjari, Soroush Saeedi and Artin Rabiee.

The Heart International Women’s Film Festival is launched by the Roya Film House and Armanshahr Foundation in Heart, Afghanistan.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for August 26-30, 2020.
