Portugal fest to receive Iranian short

The Heritales-International Heritage Film Festival in Portugal is slated to host Iranian short animation ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’.

Made by Mahdiyeh Sadadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, the short toon is among the Animation competition lineup of the 4th edition of the Portuguese event.

‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ narrates the story of a little girl who loses her family in the war. The only thing that saves her is her drawings. Before the bomb falls and takes away her family, she sits by the window and finds out that the people on the other side of the window are like wild animals. Now that she is alone, she only has her imagination at her disposal to help her.

The International Festival of Animated film “Constantine’s Gold Coin” in Serbia is another upcoming event that the short will compete at.

Established in 2016, the Heritales-International Heritage Film Festival aims to show the anthropological knowledge of different cultures. It shows ways of life and rituals that form a culture.

The upcoming edition of the event is slated for September 24-27, 2020.
