‘New Moon Hotel’ to appear in drive-ins

Iran-Japan coproduction ‘New Moon Hotel’ is soon to join drive-in movie theaters in Iran.

As Iran is adding to its drive-in cinemas across the country so that people can socially distance and watch their favorite movies amid pandemic, ‘New Moon Hotel’ has been also newly included in the list to soon hit local drive-ins.

In drive-in cinemas, cars are required to park two metres apart and movie tickets will be scanned through closed windows.

Japanese director Takefumi Tsutsui is at the helm of ‘New Moon Hotel’ with the initial title ‘Noushin’.

Penned by Naghmeh Samini, the film bears a social theme, narrating a mother and daughter whose life is disrupted by a man.

Tsutsui’s feature enjoys a string of Iranian and Japanese actors, including names like Mahnaz Afshar, Ali Shadman, Nasim Adabi, Laleh Marzban, Ayako Kobayashi and Masatoshi Nagase.

Ayako Kobayashi is known to Iranian audience as she played the childhood of Oshin between 6-10 years old in Japanese serialized television drama ‘Oshin’.

It is worth mentioning that ‘New Moon Hotel’ went on screen at the ‘Eastern Vista’ section of the 37th Fajr International Film Festival.
