‘Invasion’ hits home screens

Iranian movie ‘Invasion’ has entered domestic market of home entertainment.

The film directed by Shahram Mokri hit home screens on Thursday May 28, 2020.

Written by Mokri and Nasim Ahmadpour on a crime story, ‘Invasion’ is Mokri’s third feature film.

In the drama, someone’s been murdered and the police are investigating in the crime spot which is a sports arena.

They have taken the murder suspect into custody and try to find out the killing method. However, since the friends of the murdered person are not to be very collaborative, the investigation gets more complicated.

Abed Abest, Babak Karimi, Elaheh Bakhshi, Pedram Sharifi, Behzad Dorani, Saeed Zarei, Mohamad Sareban and Levon Haftvan have starred in ‘Invasion’.

Born in 1978 in Kermanshah, Mokri is an Iranian screenwriter and film director. His film ‘Fish & Cat’ was shown at the 70th Venice Film Festival in Italy and won the special Orizzonti award for innovative content.

He was nominated for the 2013 Asia Pacific Screen Award for Achievement in Directing for ‘Fish & Cat’.

‘Fish & Cat’ (2013) is a mystery/horror drama which suggested the advent of a technically talented filmmaker as the whole movie, running for 134 minutes, that was shot in a single take.

Mokri also received the award for Best Director at the 2007 Iranian Noor Film Festival for his short film ‘The Dragonfly Storm’
