Iran animation to attend Chinese fest

The Hong Kong Kid’s International Film Festival (KIFF) has scheduled to host Iranian short title ‘This Side, Other Side’.

Lida Fazli’s internationally acclaimed short film will be in contention at the 4th edition of the Chinese event which will be held online this year over the COVID-19 pandemic.

The short animation shows how the children of two opposite sides of a border cherish each other’s company, regardless of the fact that their countries are burning in the fire of a war that the adults have brought upon them.

Fazli told ifilm in an exclusive interview her animation means to show when it comes to children’s amity and friendship, no amount of borders or wars can come in between. The animation has the message of peace.

‘This Side, Other Side’ has already participated at a number of international film events, including the Animage International film festival in Brazil, the Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth in India, the IFVA Awards in China and the Termeh Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany.

Established in 2017, the KIFF sets horizons in being a platform to showcase meaningful movies from around the world for children and teenagers.

The fest believes in movies to be strong tools to elevate cultural learning and to be sources of inspiration.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for July 25-August 2, 2020.
