Iran short to compete in Russia

Iranian short title ‘Missing’ has been scheduled to attend the UFA Youth Short Film Festival in Russia.

Written and directed by Mehrdad Sadeqi and produced by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society in Khomeinishahr, the short title will be in competition at the 7th edition of the Russian film event.

“Missing means could not be seen or found. This is a person’s condition when we do not know where they are. We do not know if they are alive or dead. A missing is a person who does not respond to judicial summons,” a short synopsis for the flick reads.

Afshin Haji-Heidari, Mohammad Mousavi, Omid Bohlouli, Hossein Bahrami and Yasin Khadem are the cast members of the flick.

The UFA Youth Film Festival is an international film event which accepts short films made by filmmakers aged 14-25.

The event also holds master-classes and gatherings for filmmakers and the public to talk and share.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival will be held online on July 7-11, 2020.
