US to host Iran's ‘Slow Death'

Iran’s short title ‘Slow Death' has made it to the Portland Horror Film Festival in the US.

The film will compete at the 5th edition of the US event.

Written and directed by Amin Sahraee, ‘Slow Death' is about a segment of the life of a girl in old Tehran.

“Before going to bed, Tal’at, a young girl, tells a frightening tale. Her brother is too scared to get water from the kitchen, so Tal’at goes to get the water. But when she returns to the room, her mother and brother have disappeared,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Slow Death’ was crowned the Best Short at the Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival in Russia.

The film was also awarded at the Tehran International Short Film Festival.

The Portland Horror Film Festival is “a 4-day international festival of terror, bringing horror from around the world to creepy Portland”, according to an online submission platform.

The 5th edition of the Portland Horror Film Festival is set to take place later this month.
