Iran president sets conditions for cinemas

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has set conditions for movie theaters opening across the country.

The president said movie theaters can resume activities with observing the health protocols and under the condition that in all cinema and concert halls just 50 percent of seats would be taken by the audiences.

According to the officials at the Iranian headquarter of fight against the coronavirus, the movie theaters and concerts may continue activities from June 21.

Using masks and gloves, broadcasting coronavirus-related trailers prior to screening the movies and performances, considering seat separation policy and preparing liquid soap and sterilizers are among the health protocols.

Also using thermometer to identify the infected people and preventing them from entering the halls will be required.

The entire art and cultural activities, including public screenings in movie theaters have been canceled across Iran since this February due to the coronavirus pandemic.
