Directed and written by Kaveh Tehrani, the 20-minute short title is in competition for Best Live-Action Short Over 15 Minutes at the US event.
“Mina and Saeed live a stressful life in Tehran, but Mina sees a future for the family elsewhere. She wants to move abroad, but Saeed then invents a device that places the responsibility for the hijab where it belongs,” a short synopsis to the short reads
The cast of the flick includes Reza Boroujerdi, Narges Rashidi, Sarina Ashkpour, Jasmin Tabatabaee, and Mohammad-Ali Behboudi.
The Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs International ShortFest aims to stay the medium that keeps film markets, filmmakers and viewers connected.
Facing “these challenging and unprecedented times caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic”, the festival will be held online this June.
The event also includes virtual classes and panels and free screening of a portion of the official selected films.
This edition of the festival is scheduled for June 16-22, 2020.
