Iran director to judge in Turkey

Iranian director Farnoush Samadi has been selected as a jury member of the International Migration Film Festival – GAZIANTEP in Turkey.

The award-winning Iranian director will judge at the 2020 edition of the festival.

Eight short films focusing on immigration from Spain, Turkey, Portugal, France, the US and Italy will be judged by Samadi.

Born in 1983, Samadi is a young Iranian short film director who has so far made a number of successful works such as ‘Gaze’, ‘The Silence’, ‘Disappearance’ and ‘More than Two Hours’.

In year 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) appointed Samadi as a member.

More than 50 films will be screened online during the festival and it will bring together hundreds of filmmakers, press members, participants from non-governmental organizations and academicians from Turkey and across the world.

The ‘International Migration Film Festival’ will be inviting everyone to reassess the contributions of migration to the civilization, the cultural impact between societies and the adaptation processes.

This year’s edition of the event will be launched online on June 14-21, 2020.
