‘The Other’ narrates the story of a traditional man who following his wife's death suspects her thinking his wife had an extra marital affair with another man.
His condition worsens when he suspects her daughter belonging to the other man.
The cast list of the flick includes Mohammad Potki, Mohammad Bidaq-Beigi, Asieh Moradizar, and Shiva Soufi-Mahmoudi.
The Best Silent Film award at the Venice Intercultural Film Festival in Italy and the Best Cinematography award at the International Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia are among the honors ‘The Other’ has gained so far.
A number of other Iranian works, including ‘The Old Man and the Singer’, ‘Weightlessness’ and ‘Weekend’, have also been picked to compete at the IFF.
The IFF is a competition open to feature films and documentaries regardless of language: fiction, documentary, animation.
The theme of the festival is particularly focused "on the location and enhancement of the cultural and landscape identity of the territories chosen for filming".
This edition of the event will be held online on June 27-July 4, 2020.
