Iran’s ‘Patio’ to compete in UK

Iranian feature ‘Patio’ has been selected to compete at the 5th edition of the Straight Jacket Guerrilla Film Festival in the UK.

The feature film which narrates a feminine story set in the city is based on a script written by Hamed Qasemi titled ‘The Roof Bell’.

After making some fictional and experimental short films, ‘Patio’ is the first indie experience of Maryam Bahrololoumi as director.

Her second film titled ‘Shahrbanou’ is now in post-production stage.

Some of the actors starring in the ‘Patio’ are Behnaz Jafari, Ali Yaqoubi, Babak Ansari, and Pouriya Poursorkh.

The movie went on screen at competition section of the 36th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

‘Patio’ was also present at Eastern Vista and Debut Films sections as well as the international film market of the Iranian event.

The Straight Jacket Guerrilla festival aims to show the audience a surrealistic world.

The fifth edition of the event is slated for August 15-21, 2020.
