Iran short wins award in US

Iranian short film ‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ has grabbed an award at the Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF) in the US.

Written and directed by the award-winning Iranian director Alireza Qasemi, the flick has succeeded to take home the Best Student Short Film award at the 5th edition of the American film event.

‘Better than Neil Armstrong’ narrates the story of four kids who are planning to travel to the moon on their own spaceship.

The 20-minute flick has already attended a number of global events, including the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival, the Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey and the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in the US.

The Best Cinematography and the Best Movie Soundtrack awards from the 15th Nahal Student Short Film Festival in Iran and the Best Live Action Director’s award from the Pune International Film Festival are only some of the awards that the film has grabbed so far.

Noushika Khodashenas, Kian Alipanah, Ilia Hassani, Asal Shakeri and Golnoush Ghahramani are the cast members of the short.

The Las Cruces International Film Festival showcases independent films from around the globe. The designated venue for the event is located in the southwestern city of Las Cruces in New Mexico.
