Iran’s ‘Malakout’ bags 2 awards in US

Iran’s animated film ‘Malakout’ has garnered two awards at the Florida Animation Festival of the US.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the short animation was named among sub-category winners at the festival.

It was awarded First Place in the sub-category “Animation Studio (MIXED-MEDIA/EXPERIMENTAL)”.

The film was also named as one of the Audience Favorites.

“Music was his passion. Love was his masterpiece,” a synopsis for ‘Malakout’ reads.

The Florida Animation Festival is a multi-day film festival that was launched in 2016 with the aim of “showcasing amazing animated films and spotlighting both regional and global animation talent,” the event’s website reads.

The 2020 edition of the festival took place online recently due to the coronavirus pandemic.
