Lida Fazli’s short will be running in the competition program of the 36th edition of the Italian international festival of animated films, comics and games.
Peace seeking and disregard for war has been the subject for many renowned artistic creations for long. Fazli has contributed her part to this old tradition by her festival favorite short film ‘This Side, Other Side’.
The short shows how the children of two opposite sides of a border cherish each other’s company, regardless of the fact that their countries are burning in the fire of a war that the adults have brought upon them.
Fazli told ifilm that her animation means to show when it comes to children’s amity and friendship, no amount of borders or wars can come in between.
The Animage International film festival in Brazil, the Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth in India, the ifva Awards in China and the Termeh Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany are some global film events that have taken on the short.
According to an earlier report by ifilm, ‘Identity’ by Alireza Salehi will be attending the Italian fest.
According to the Cartoon Club’s website, it is a remarkable window for animation works, short films in particular – fiction, educational, experimental, computer graphic – and with a whole section solely dedicated to comics called Riminicomix.
The 36th Cartoon Club Festival will be held from August 9 to 19 in Rimini, Italy.
