This actor escapes death on ‘My Mother’ set

Director of ifilm series ‘My Mother’ reveals shocking details on impending death of recently demised actor Sirous Gorjestani on the set of his series.

The actor we heard the sad news of his death yesterday could be dead on the set of ifilm series ‘My Mother’ Javad Afshar said to the local media, adding the incident happened when “we were shooting the scene for Khan’s death played by Gorjestani.”

“The artist (Gorjestani) had to sit on a tree and play an instrument while leaning slowly against the tree with his eyes closed before he died. We shot the scene, and when Gorjestani leaned against the tree and closed his eyes, he was about to fall off the top of a mountain. Thank God a nearby bush on the cliff saved his life, and God helped all of us in the incident.”

‘My Mother’ is the story of a strong woman who has been through the ups and downs of life and managed to survive and thrive. But an old secret unravels her life and disturbs her peace. She realizes some of her loved ones have gravely wronged her and sets on a path to get back what was taken away.

Gorjestani died of a heart attack in one of the hospitals in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Thursday.

He had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night because of heart disease.

The Iranian veteran actor was born in the city of Bandar-e Anzali. He made his film debut in 1979.

He has appeared in many TV series, including ‘The Occupiers’, ‘Trouble’, ‘Imam Ali (AS)’, ‘The British Briefcase’, ‘A Place of Love’, ‘The Entrance Exam’, ‘The Suspect Got Away’, ‘Dance in the Sky’, ‘Shahriyar', ‘The Safe’,  ‘Stepmother’, ‘A Girl Named Ahoo’ and ‘The Pahlavi Hat’.

He also took part in movies such as ‘Snowman’, ‘The Visitor of Rey’, ‘Aquarium’, ‘Three Degree Fever’, and ‘Network’.
