Iran ‘Funfair’ to attend Irish fest

Acclaimed Iranian title ‘Funfair’ has been scheduled to attend the Still Voices Short Film Festival (SVSFF) in Ireland.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, the 15-minute title will be in competition at the 4th edition of the Irish event.

‘Funfair’ narrates the story of a young married couple, their 5-year-old kid and their financial problems.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “Majid, a financially struggling man, comes up with a ploy in order to better the life of his wife, Sara. But, will he be able to improve the situation? Will Sara have the patience needed?”

The cast list of the short title includes Sonia Sanjari, Soroush Saeedi and Artin Rabiei.

Launched in 2014, the Still Voices Short Film Festival started off as an event to accept films from local directors.

It then grew to become a venue for international works. It currently is among the biggest short film fests in Ireland.

The upcoming edition of the SVSFF will take place on August 13-16, 2020.
