Bulgarian film event to meet ‘Each Other’

Iranian animated movie ‘Each Other’ is picked as the official lineup of the 17th IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria.

Sarah Tabibzadeh’s 16-minute animated piece is about some people who are living with their personality layers, and they take them to “Layeromat” just like their clothes.

A young man who works in a “Layeromat” accidentally loses one of his layers.

Despite his long search, he couldn’t find it, but through an inner revolution during his searching, he reaches a new understanding of his being.

The short animation has taken part at the 10th ANIMAGE Int’l Animation Festival of Pernambuco in Brazil, the 15th Athens ANIMFEST int’l animation festival in Greece, the 15th Beloit Int’l Film Festival (BIFF) in the US and the 36th Tehran Int’l Short Film Festival in Iran where it won the Special Jury Award.

Iranian animation ‘Malakout’ themed on a scary subject by Farnouosh Abedi is also among the 2020 official selection of the Bulgarian film event.

The “In the Palace” is an established international festival dedicated to short films, new media and digital arts up to 27 minutes in length.

The main purpose of the Festival is to present and promote the contemporary short film art form from Bulgaria, Europe, and the rest of the world.

The upcoming edition of the festival will be held on September 15–22, 2020 in Festival and Congress Center-Varna.
