Iranian short film ‘Exam’ has been honored at the ShorTS International Film Festival in Italy.
Directed by Sonia Haddad, ‘Exam’ received a special mention at the 21st edition of the festival.
“A special mention goes to a film that combines a small but relevant story, excellent direction, meticulous editing and really great performance by its lead actress,” according to the event’s website.
“A teenage girl involves in the process of delivering a pack of cocaine to its client, and she got stuck in a weird cycle of occurrences,” a synopsis for the film reads.
‘Exam’ has attended international festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada and the Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden.
It has also managed to win several awards, including the Golden Star at the 3rd El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt.
‘Exam’ actress Sadaf Asgari also received the Special Jury Award for Acting at the 35th Sundance Film Festival in the US.
This year’s edition of ShorTS IFF was held online on July 4-12 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
