Iran actor wins big in Italy

The 2020 Taormina Film Fest in Italy has granted an award to Iranian feature film ‘Namo’.

Bakhtiyar Panjehee, the lead actor of the Nader Saeevar’s feature has been named as the recipient of the Best Actor award of the 66th edition of the Italian event.

Born in 1977, Panjehee is an Iranian theater director and actor. He has directed a number of theatrical plays such as ‘The Story of a Zoo’ , ‘Birthday’ and ‘Fatigue’.

‘Namo’ the name of the flick means alien.

While no synopsis for the film has been released yet, r Panjehee, Sevil Shirgir, Nader Mehdilou, Nasser Hashemi, Hadi Eftekharzadeh, Firouz Aqeli and Tara Aqajani form the cast list of the flick.

The film which has been produced by Mastaneh Mohajer and Tahoura Abolqasemi, has already attended the 70th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

ifilm star Pejman Bazeghi and Iranian star Navid Mohammadzadeh have been the investors of this cinematic project.

The Arthood Entertainment film company is in charge of the film’s marketing and distribution.

The Taormina Film Fest showcases international feature and documentary films from around the world. Many works get their international premieres here at the Italian fest.

This year’s edition of the event was held June 28-July 4, 2020.
