Portugal to host Iran film

Iranian movie ‘Diapason’ has been qualified for Avanca Film Festival in Portugal.

The film directed by Hamed Tehrani will be screened at the 2020 edition of the event.

The main competition section of the 24th of the Avanca Filmfest will be hosting the 93-minute film alongside other movies around the world.

This year’s edition of the festival will be held as drive-in and in an open air atmosphere due to coronavirus.

The winners of each section will be special guests to the next edition of the festival to receive their awards.

‘Diapason’ narrates the story of a 50-year-old single mother named Ranaa who lives with her daughter Hoda. On an accident her daughter dies and the incident ends all her happiness in life.

A tagline for the flick reads, "If you had broken his arm the first time that he hit his sister, you would not have ended up here".

A number of ifilm stars such as Behnoush Bakhtiyari and Zhaleh Sameti portray the two main roles of the feature. Some other cast members include Alireza Ostadi, Mehdi Hosseininia, Masoumeh Rahmani, Babak Nouri, Shadi Ganji, Mahsa Akbari, Sara Sarabi and Yekta Tabibi.

Hossein Tehrani has been the writer and ifilm star of ‘The Fateful Day’ movie Alireza Shojanouri has been in charge of the flick’s production.

Avanca International Film Festival is the only European Film Festival which prepares the ground for exclusive cinematic activities. The festival’s goal is to pursue the global perspective on contemporary features of cinema, television and multimedia.

The 2020 edition of the festival is currently underway and will run until July 27.
