The 60th edition of the Czech event has completed its competitive lineup with Parsa Bozorgani’s ‘Howling’ and Sepideh Berenji’s ‘Raya’ from Iran.
‘Raya’ narrates the story of a little school girl who wishes to take control of her life with her thinking faculty.
She tries to find solutions for the troubles she experiences either at home or school.
The short title has already attended a number of film events, including the Nahal International Student Short Film Festival in Iran.
‘Howling’ has also attended some global events, including the SPE Media Festival and the Scout Film Festival, both in the US.
Attending at the Khorshid Independent Film Festival in Iran has brought the short film the second position among the award-winning titles of the event.
According to an earlier report on ifilm, ‘Gando’ directed by Teimour Qaderi is also among the competing films at the Zlin fest.
Founded in 1961, the Zlin Children and Youth Film Festival is the oldest and largest event of its kind in the world.
This year’s edition of the event, which is held annually in June, has been postponed over the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new announced date is September 4-10, 2020.
