Directed by Amir-Masoud Soheili, the short title is an adaptation of an Afghan short story.
It narrates the story of an old man who has a turkey (Elephantbird) and plans to give the bird to his grandchild.
But the simple task of delivering the turkey to his grandchild is not that easy.
‘Elephantbird’ has previously participated at several international film festivals, including the 23rd AVANCA - International Meeting of Cinema, TV, Video and Multimedia in Portugal, the 14th Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia, the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy, the 2020 R.E.D. International Film Festival of Norway and the 2020 Big Bear Film Summit in the US.
The IISUFF is presented by Dhaka University Film Society in association with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The 12th edition of the event aims to promote the work of young filmmakers who are university students.
The festival chose ‘Take Your Camera, Frame Your Dream’ as its slogan.
The 2020 edition of the IISUFF will be held on July 28-30.
