‘Zero Degree Turn’ picked as IMDb top series

On-screen ifilm series ‘Zero Degree Turn’ is placed among top Iranian shows, IMDb ratings reveal.

According to the scores published by the platform, which usually ranks films and series as per the audience’s votes, Hassan Fathi’s offering gained a 7.9/10 rating and was placed among top 15 Iranian series of all-time.

Two other ifilm series ‘Imam Ali (AS)' and ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ were also shortlisted and gained the 12th and 14th places, respectively. ‘Zero Degree Turn’ landed the spot between the two series on the list.

‘Zero Degree Turn’ follows an Iranian boy who travels to Paris to study. There, he meets and falls in love with a young Jewish girl. But when World War II breaks out, he's forced to return home; thus, he manages to bring secretly the girl and her mother to Iran in order to save them from the Nazis who've occupied France.

While Iran itself is occupied by foreign forces, the young man helps to launch a newspaper focused on preserving and promoting the country's heritage and culture. But it won’t be easy since political intrigues threaten to destroy everything he holds dear.

Internationally acclaimed Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini plays a starring role in the series. Hosseini is best known for his Festival de Cannes best actor-winning performance in the academy award-winner 'The Salesman' by Asghar Farhadi as well as his Berlinale Silver Bear for Best Actor-winning performance in the academy award-winner 'A Separation' by the same director.
