Baran Sarmad’s film is taking part at the Pardi di domain section of the 73rd Locarno Film Festival, which was inaugurated on Wednesday.
Written by Mohammad-Reza Miqani, ‘Spotted Yellow’ is about Roya, a young girl who has a yellow spot on her face.
“Once she feels the signs of a real giraffe in her life; and her life begins to change slowly,” a synopsis for the film reads.
‘Spotted Yellow’, which has grabbed an award at the Tehran International Film Festival in Iran, is starring Shadi Karam.
The Pardi di domani section “screens short and medium-length films from around the world (not more than 59 minutes in length) by independent filmmakers or film school students who have not previously directed feature films,” the website of the Locarno Film Festival reads.
The 73rd edition of the festival will run until August 15, 2020.
