Iran short to vie at Italian event

Iranian short film ‘Azadeh’ has been slated to compete at the Corto e a Capto- Premio Mario Puzo film festival in Italy.

The sixth edition of the Italian film event will be the latest competition venue for Mir-Abbas Khosravinejad’s acclaimed 10-minute short.

‘Azadeh’ narrates the story of a little girl who wants to meet up with her father for one last time, but her mother and brother will not let it happen.

Amir-Hossein Beiranvand, Mahdieh Ahmadi-Rad, Masoumeh Korkizad and Alireza Bahravand are the cast members of the flick.

The short has been already screened at some global film events, including the Trenton Film Festival in the US, the Riga Int’l Short Film Festival 2ANNAS in Latvia, the Iranian Short Film Month in Turkey and the Dhaka Int’l Film Festival in Bangladesh.

It will soon be screening at the Fresco Int’l filmfest in Armenia, along with a number of other Iranian shorts.

The Corto e a Capto- Premio Mario Puzo film festival aims to host films from around the world hoping to provoke thought and inspire hopes. The latest edition of the fest if slated for August 18-23, 2020.
