Directed by Shouresh Vakili, the 12-minute flick is about an ex-soldier who works in a movie theater.
He tries to remove a blood stain that appears on screen every time a war film is played.
But the more he fights with the stain, the bigger it gets until it drips onto the floor and leaves a puddle.
‘The Stain’ has been screened at some global events, including the "One Shot" International Short Film Festival in Armenia and "The Wild West" FreedomFest 2019 in the US.
The short title has also been scheduled to compete at several festivals, including the 21st Ojai Film Festival and the 3rd PressPlay film festival, both in the US.
‘The Stain’ has won the Best Short Film award at the 2020 edition of the Small Axe film festival in the UK and the first prize at the Best Social Shorts Films category of the 4th Solidando Film Festival in Italy.
The Threadbare festival welcomes films with various genres and calls itself “an eclectic and eccentric celebration of genre cinema”.
The festival brings together the best and oddest films from around the world.
This year’s edition will be held on September 3-7, 2020.
