US filmfest to host ‘Untimely’

The 2020 Indy Film Fest in the US has included Iranian feature ‘Untimely’ in its competition playlist.

Pouya Eshtehardi’s debut feature film will participate in the competition section of the 17th edition of the American screening event.

The story follows the story of a young guy called Hamin who is doing his military service in a watchtower in the borderline of Iran and Pakistan.

“Impatient for a day off to attend his sister’s wedding ceremony, he gets into a fight with his commander. Up in the watchtower, Hamin reviews the past years and the things happened to him and his sister since their childhood,” adds the Indy film event to its website.

The cast list of ‘Untimely’ includes Iman Afshar, Shayan Afshar, Ayyoub Afshar, Mahsa Narouee, Ava Azarpira, and Mollabakhsh Raeesi.

Some of the recent accolades grabbed by ‘Untimely’ include the Excellence award at the 11th IndieFEST Film Awards, the Best Feature award from the 32nd Dallas VieoFest’s Alternative Fiction as well as the Best World Cinema Feature award at the 24th KC FilmFest International, all in the US.

The flick will also take part in the 11th One Country One Film Apchat-Issoire International Film Festival to be held in France on August 31-September 06, 2020.

The Indy Film Fest celebrates the art of cinema, fostering new talent and helping filmmakers connect with the global industry.

This year, the festival will be held virtually on August 13-23, 2020.
