‘Asho’ heads to South Korean film event

‘Asho’, a documentary film by Jafar Najafi, is slated to take part in the EBS International Documentary Festival (EIDF) in South Korea.

Also written by Najafi, ‘Asho’ will vie at the 17th Asia’s prestigious documentary film festival which will be held on August 17-23, 2020.

‘Asho’ is about a very young peasant boy whose world is not bound to his surroundings. Despite spending days and nights with his herd and work for a living, the boy has a huge passion for filmmaking and cinema.

Two of the most notable awards grabbed by the short film include a special mention at the Int’l Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film - DOK Leipzig and the Best Int’l Short Film Award at the 34th Fribourg Int’l Film Festival (FIFF), both in Germany.

The EBS Int’l Documentary Festival will also host Teymour Qaderi’s 8-minute flick ‘Gando’ this year.

As the only film festival in the world to occur both on TV and in cinemas, the EIDF highlights documentary films focused on Asia or made in Asia through a week-long programming of documentaries.
