Iran film releases international poster

The international poster for Iranian movie ‘180 Degree Rule’ has been released.

The official English poster for Farnoush Samadi’s first feature film was published prior to Toronto Film Festival screening in Canada.

The film will premiere at the Discovery section of the 2020 edition of Toronto International Film Festival on September 13.

Produced by Ali Mosaffa, ‘180 Degree Rule’ narrates the story of a female school teacher in Tehran who wants to travel to northern Iran to attend a wedding ceremony.

When her husband forbids the trip, she makes a decision that may have grave consequences for her.

Sahar Dolatshahi, Pejman Jamshidi, Azita Hajian and Hassan Pourshirazi are among the cast members of the flick.

Samadi has already made a big number of internationally acclaimed short films, including ‘Gaze’, ‘The Silence’, ‘Disappearance’ and ‘More than Two Hours’.

In 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) selected Samadi as a member.

According to the official website of the TIFF, this year’s edition of the event “is tailored to fit the moment, with physical screenings and drive-ins, digital screenings, virtual red carpets, press conferences, and industry talks.

This year’s selection comprises a lineup of 50 new feature films, five programs of short films, as well as interactive talks, film cast reunions, and Q&As with cast and filmmakers”.

The 45th edition of the fest, slated for September 10-19, is also set to screen Iranian feature film ‘Bandar Band’.
