‘Local Anesthesia’ to get theatrical release soon

Iranian feature film ‘Local Anesthesia’ is set to open in cinemas across Iran soon, as three other movies have received a license for theatrical release in the country.

Directed by Hossein Mahkam, ‘Local Anesthesia’ will open in Iranian cinemas next week, a year after it premiered at the Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.

The film is starring Parsa Pirouzfar, who returns to the big screen after moving to the stage seven years ago.

Besides Pirouzfar, Habib Rezaee, Baran Kosari and Hassan Majouni have also taken part in the movie.

‘Local Anesthesia’ was initially scheduled to open in cinemas last spring, but its release was postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, which led to the closure of movie theaters across the world.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs reported that Ida Panahandeh’s ‘Ti Ti’, ‘Enemies’ (Doshmanan) by Ali Derakhshandeh and 'Untuned Instruments' (Sazhaye nakook), directed by Ali Hazrati received a license for theatrical release.
