Bountiful harvest of nature's candy underway in Iran

Harvesting of nature's candy, also known as a date, is underway in several provinces across Iran - one of the top 5 largest date producers in the world.

Farmers in Iran start picking palm dates in the last month of summer. The exact starting time for the harvest season varies in each province. 

The provinces of Kerman, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan and Bushehr are the largest date producers in Iran.

In addition to satisfying domestic demand, Iranian dates are exported to the Central Asia countries, particularly Russia.
