Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, ‘Crab’, which has been produced by Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, is about a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.
Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.
But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.
The animation has competed at several international festivals, including the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival, the Shanghai International Film Festival in China, and the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan.
Established in 1976, the OIAF is known as one of the world’s leading animation festivals.
The festival provides screenings, exhibits, workshops, and entertainment.
The annual five-day event has extended its date this year and will hold screening and talks online from September 23 to October 4.
