US fest crowns Iran short

The Love International Film Festival (LIFF) in the US has awarded Iranian short animation ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’.

Made by Mahdiyeh Sadadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, the short cartoon has been picked as the recipient of the Best Animation film award at the fifth edition of the American film event.

‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ is about a little girl who loses her family to a war. The only thing that saves her is her drawings. Before the bomb falls and takes away her family, she sits by the window and finds out that the people on the other side of the window are like wild animals. Now that she is alone, she only has her imagination at her disposal to help her.

The short has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Heritales-International Heritage Film Festival in Portugal, the Dytiatko Int’l Children’s Media in Ukraine and the Five Continents Int’l Film Festival in Venezuela.

The Love International Film Festival features films, which inspire feelings of peace, love, acceptance, and tolerance towards children and families.

This year’s edition of the LIFF was held on September 16-21.
